| Solvent Extraction Technical Service
Technically, your success is our business.
Cytec has one very specific but far-reaching goal: to maximize the recovery of metal values at the lowest possible cost.
Achieving outstanding results like this requires not only commitment but know-how. That's why we have chemical engineers, metallurgists, and chemists located in every major copper mining center in the world to provide our customers with all the technical support they need. We stay on-site with them for as long as it takes to help them utilize reagents and equipment in a way that maximizes productivity and profitability.
Cytec employees over 30 engineers and scientists who are focused solely on solvent extraction. These industry experts are based out of four technical service centers and three research centers in North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Australia.
Our technical support often begins even before a customer has broken ground for their solvent extraction facility. In fact, many of our relationships begin during the feasibility studies stage, working with the engineering firms that design our customers' plants. This early involvement enables us to ensure that a plant will operate at peak efficiency, maximizing the customer's asset value from day one.
MINCHEM and MEUM™ computer process modeling
Cytec's MINCHEM and MINCHEM End-User Module (MEUM) programs are invaluable tools for simulating how complex SX circuits will perform once a plant is operational. Using computer software programs for process optimization is nothing new to many industries. And it's not new to SX/EW. But Cytec’s proprietary MINCHEM application remains the SX industry's first, and most sophisticated, modeling tool.
MINCHEM is more than just a flowsheet/design package. It's a Windows-based system that allows Cytec to design solvent extraction circuits on demand. Using information from mining companies or their engineering firms, we are able to evaluate circuit layouts, flow options, recovery options, reagent inventory and make-up requirements. The end result is precise calculation of optimum parameters, which can be used to maximize plant performance. The MINCHEM program is offered to customers, on their site, at no charge.
MEUM, a streamlined version of the MINICHEM software, is a user-friendly tool that enables customers to rapidly manipulate data via the Internet.
MINCHEM and MEUM software, only available from Cytec, is one more example of the unrivaled service capability that the metallurgical industry receives from the SX/EW leader. |
