A Leader in Ionic Liquids for a Variety of Applications
A recent innovation is the use of certain
low-melting or liquid tetra alkylphosphonium salts as “ionic
liquids”. These products are marketed under the CYPHOS®trade
name (see
Table) and are finding an increasingly large variety of
applications such as lubricants, electrolytes, solvent extractant reagents, gas separation and absorption,
and novel
solvents for a variety of reactions including
bio-transformations as described under “Functional
Applications of Alkylphosphine Derivatives”.
