Cytec's pioneering research in phosphine chemistry in the 1955 - 1965 era has been put into practice with over 35 years of industrial manufacturing of phosphine gas and derivatives thereof at Cytec's Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada site.

Cytec now offers industrial scale volumes of primary (RPH₂), secondary (R₂PH), and tertiary (R₃P) alkylphosphines where R is linear, branched, cyclic, or which can also contain functional groups. These products are marketed under the CYTOP^® trade name (see Table). These products have found widespread application as intermediates, catalyst ligands or as processing aides in the fine chemical and pharmaceutical markets.
