Cytec Presents Waterborne One-Pack Epoxy and UV Field Applied
Technologies
for Protective Coatings
Woodland Park, NJ – December 17, 2012 – Cytec
Industries Inc. (NYSE: CYT) is a Silver Sponsor of the SSPC 2013
GreenCOAT in San Antonio, Texas from January 14-17, 2013, and
will be showcasing waterborne resins and UV curable technologies
for protective coatings. Two presentations will be given, “Novel
One-Pack (1K) Epoxy Technology for Corrosion Protection” and “Field
Applied UV Curable Coatings for Concrete Flooring”, by experts
from Cytec Coating Resins.
Dr. Florian Lunzer, Global Technical Service
Manager for Protective Coatings, will introduce a novel
waterborne one-pack (1K) epoxy resin based on cationic
epoxy-amine technology that provides a very high level of
corrosion resistance. “This new one-pack (1K) epoxy development
helps to bridge the performance gap between traditional 1K alkyd
and acrylics and the high corrosion resistance of two –pack(2K)
epoxy systems,” Dr. Lunzer notes. In addition, the new resin has
a very low VOC content, has no pot life issues, is fast drying,
and does not contain a sensitizing amine hardener. Dr. Lunzer’s
presentation is titled “Novel Waterborne One-Pack (1K) Epoxy
Technology for Corrosion Protection” and will be given at 4:30
P.M. on January 16th.
Also on January 16th at 3:30 P.M, Dr. JoAnn
Arceneaux, Global Technical Manager for New Business Development,
will present the latest developments and advantages of UV-cured
field applied coatings for concrete flooring applications. “UV
curable field applied coatings address some of the shortcomings
of commercially available coating systems on the market, such as
improved environmental compliance, increased productivity,
better product performance, immediate cure for rapid
return-to-service, and a high quality, very durable finish,”
observes Dr. Arceneaux.
