Cytec Announces Methanol Surcharge for Liquid
Coating Resins in the Americas
West Paterson, NJ, December 17, 2007 – Cytec
Industries Inc. (NYSE:CYT) announced today to its customers that
it is instating a methanol surcharge for all CYMEL®, MELMAC®,
BECKAMINE®, and UFORMITE® aminoplast resins shipped in the
Americas on or after January 1, 2008.
The surcharge for a given month will be
calculated in $0.10/gallon increments based on the North
American market price of methanol from the prior month. The
reference price will be the Methanex Non-Discounted Reference
Price.
The increase is necessitated by the continued
escalation in the cost of methanol. Information and
