Cytec to Present Polyurethane
and Acrylic Dispersions at the “High-performance Waterborne
Clearcoats II” Conference
Brussels, Belgium, November 3, 2009 - Cytec Industries Inc.
(NYSE:CYT) will be present at the European Coatings Conference
“High-performance Waterborne Clearcoats II”, taking place in
Berlin/Germany on November 12 & 13th.
Polyurethane dispersions and acrylic emulsions or dispersions
are widely and successfully used in many clear coat systems
today. Many applications however are still served by
solventborne systems and a large potential for further growth in
waterborne systems is still available.
“During my presentation I will highlight some of the general
chemical and process levers used to tailor resins for specific
applications. For acrylics, I will talk about self-crosslinking
and 2K isocyanate crosslinking under ambient or forced drying
conditions,” says Stefan Van Den Branden, Director of Technical
Service & Development - Liquid Coating Resins. “For the
polyurethane technology I will focus on TMXDI® isocyanate as a
platform for 1K and 2K PUDs and on the development of UV-crosslinkable
PUDs. New opportunities for acrylic and polyurethane clear coat
systems will be discussed as well,” he added.
