RESYDROL® AY 6705 and RESYDROL® AZ 6710 –
Waterborne Hybrid Resins for Wood Stains from Cytec

Brussels, October 8th, 2012 –– Cytec’s (NYSE:CYT) RESYDROL® AY 6705 and RESYDROL® AZ 6710 advanced waterborne hybrid resins for wood stains allow more time for enjoying outdoor living spaces. The resins provide extended weathering and durability, excellent wood penetration, fast drying and superior film erosion control.

With RESYDROL® AY 6705 and RESYDROL® AZ 6710 hybrid resins, Cytec presents an optimized technology which combines the best of alkyds, acrylics and urethanes. Compared to commercially available hybrids, Cytec’s resins are characterized by better UV stability, early water resistance, improved abrasion and flexibility, as well as superior dirt pick up resistance. These resins also allow for formulating low VOC stains (<50 g/L).

The coating penetrates deeper into the wood surface, protecting against discoloration, cracking, and other effects of aging, and doesn’t peel off. This leads to less maintenance and longer lasting beauty of the wood. Also, with a faster drying time, projects can be completed in a day or two, instead of 3 or 4, and still look great. With no peeling or flaking, the amount of sanding or chemical stripping required before repainting is reduced”, he adds.
