Cytec Announces Price Increases on Liquid Coating Resins in Europe, Middle East and AfricaT

West Paterson, NJ, October 1, 2007 – Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE:CYT) announced today to its customers that it is increasing the prices of several of its Liquid Coating Resins in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The price increase will range, for most of the resins, from 5 to 15 %, and will apply primarily to the following product groups:
• CYMEL® and CYREZ® amino-crosslinking resins
• MACRYNAL® and VIACRYL® solventborne acrylic resins
• VIALKYD® solventborne alkyd resins.

Some resins belonging to other product groups will also need a pricing adjustment. The price increases will be applicable for orders shipped on or after November 1, 2007.

Cytec is also introducing for its liquid coating resins an order sized pricing system, including surcharges for the smaller order volumes.

The price increases are necessary to offset continued increases on energy, transportation costs and raw materials and to restore profitability.  Cytec remains committed to servicing the growing demand of the coatings industry and is further investing in operations.
