Cytec Expands Pressure Sensitive
Adhesives Support in Asia Pacific with New Lab
Tempe, Ariz. September 29, 2010 – Cytec Engineered Materials, a
business unit of Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE: CYT), announces
the relocation of its pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA)
technical service and development laboratory to its Fengxian,
China manufacturing site. The laboratory provides testing and
development services to Cytec’s PSA customers in the Asia
Pacific region.
Relocation and investment in the PSA laboratory demonstrates
Cytec’s commitment to the Asia Pacific region which is moving
rapidly to adopt new PSA technologies. In June of this year
Cytec held a comprehensive seminar and demonstration of its
UV-curable Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSA) in Shanghai, China
that was attended by over 130 customers from the region. These
customers are using PSA products increasingly in a wide range of
application including industrial tapes, PVC and polyurethane
foam tapes, removable labels, and clear-on-clear labels.
Laboratory capabilities include mechanical and environmental
testing of both emulsion, and solvent PSA products including the
UV-curable PSA products. The laboratory also includes facilities
for formulation development and product sampling. This will
allow Cytec to tailor pressure sensitive adhesive products to
customers’ specific application needs. As part of Cytec’s
laboratory network, the Fengxian lab is tied in to PSA labs in
Europe and North America allowing sharing of best practices for
testing, safety and formulation. As a result, PSA customers in
the Asia Pacific region can expect more efficient and
cost-effective laboratory services.
Cytec’s PSA products are used in a broad range of applications
spanning the labels, graphics, tapes and medical markets.
