Cytec Introduces Freezer-grade
and UV Curable Pressure Sensitive Adhesives At LabelExpo
Introductions Expand High Performance Industrials Materials
Portfolio.
September 23, 2009 – Brussels, Belgium - Cytec Engineered
Materials (CEM), a business unit of Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE:
CYT), will once again be exhibiting at Label Expo. Cytec is a
recognized global technology leader for both water-based and
solvent-based pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA). A focus at
Label Expo will be Cytec’s newest launched technology, GELVAŽ
GMR 8020-02 UV curable high-performance PSA. GMR 8020-02
provides outstanding performance such as excellent adhesion to
both low surface energy and high surface energy materials while
maintaining superior shear properties. GMR 8020-02’s performance
makes it possible to use in applications that were previously
out of reach for standard PSA products, such as membrane switch
assemblies, tamper-evident applications and high performance
industrial tapes and is being commercially used in both
narrow-web and wide-web applications.
In addition to GMR 8020-02 Cytec will also be launching a new
product designed for the PSA label market. GELVAŽ GME 6277-11 is
a new APE-free emulsion designed for freezer label applications.
Both GMR 8020-02 and GME 6277-11 are part of CEM’s new High
Performance Industrial Materials (HPIM) product portfolio. The
diverse industrial materials product portfolio is comprised of
carbon fiber prepregs, resin infusion, structural and pressure
sensitive adhesives and sealants that are specifically focused
on meeting the needs and escalating performance requirements of
the industrial sector.
