Cytec Recognized as Small Manufacturer of the Year
by South Carolina’s Chamber of Commerce

Woodland Park, NJ – September 12, 2012 – Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE: CYT) announced that its two Coating Resins plants in South Carolina – North Augusta and Langley – were named by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce as Manufacturer of the Year in the Small Company category in recognition of their manufacturing excellence, positive economic impact, commitment to workforce development, and outstanding community stewardship.
 
The North Augusta plant manufactures energy-curable and polyester powder resins for use in graphic arts, industrial coating, and wood protection applications, and in the powder painting of appliances and tractors.  The Langley plant produces acrylic polymer emulsions, acrylic resins, waterborne epoxies, and various coating additives for use in primers, overprint varnishes, pigment dispersants, 2-part epoxies, automotive clearcoats, and adhesive applications.
 
Both plants have excellent safety and environmental performance records that have been appreciated by customers and the chemical industry, as well the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. Community activities include support of Meals on Wheels, participation in programs at local schools, blood drives, and active membership in local and state chambers of commerce.
 
The awards are presented by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, which represents more than 18,000 businesses and more than one million employees, in order to create a unique opportunity for manufacturers to honor their employees for all they do to contribute to a vital industry sector, and to allow the business community to express its appreciation for all of the state’s manufacturing accomplishments.

They are committed to producing high quality products in a safe and environmentally-conscious manner, and also actively pursue opportunities to support the local community.”
 
In addition to Cytec, the other winners included Holcim (US) Inc., the largest cement manufacturer in South Carolina (Medium Company category), and Boeing South Carolina (Large Company category).
