Cytec Provides Training on Waterborne Alkyd Resins for
Architectural Coatings
Shanghai, China, July 2nd, 2012 - Cytec Industries Inc., (NYSE:
CYT) will present its technical and research developments on the
chemistry of waterborne alkyd resins at the PCI (Paints &
Coatings Industry) Training Course of Coating Formulations from
17-20 July 2012 at Changzhou, China.
Cytec’s presenter, Mr Chua Guan Hoe, Application Technology
Chemist, will lecture on the alkyd chemistry, functions,
formulations, key features and benefits of Cytec’s new
generation of waterborne alkyd resins developed for wood and
metal applications.
Mr Chua said, “The new generation of waterborne alkyd resins
shows improved performances which are perfect for various
applications. They can be used as the main resin, co-resin or
modifier resin in ambient cured waterborne coatings. The
benefits from this range of alkyds include high gloss, quick
dirt pick-up resistance, shear stability and good adhesion on
various substrates. An added advantage is its significant
consumption of renewal raw materials and low VOC (volatile
organic compound) content which is fast gaining importance in
the coatings industry.”
