Cytec Brings Innovative Phosphine Chemistry to Ionic Liquids Market

Woodland Park, NJ – June 3, 2011 - Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE: CYT) will share its innovative CYPHOS® IL phosphonium ionic liquids chemistry at the upcoming COIL-4 in Washington DC on June 15 -18, 2011.

Cytec is the global leader in phosphine technology, which provides access to a broad portfolio of alkylphosphines and derivatives such as tetraalkyl phosphonium salts. Cytec offers a wide range of phosphonium ionic liquids, and strives to develop new technologies to fit numerous applications and meet the needs of customers.

“Hydrophobic CYPHOS IL ionic liquids are particularly useful for a variety of metal, gas and organo separations. For example, selective removal of iron chloride from aqueous Ni/Fe chloride solutions and the selective removal of aromatics and olefinics from hydrocarbon streams. COIL-4 will be a great forum to share Cytec’s innovative technology in this area” says Al Robertson, Director of Technology, Phosphine Specialties.
