Cytec Announces Price Increases for UV/EB Curable Monomers,
Oligomers and Photoinitiators, and VANCRYLŽ Acrylic Resins in
the Americas
West Paterson, NJ, March 20, 2008 – Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE:CYT)
announced today to its customers that it is increasing the
prices of UV/EB curable monomers, oligomers and photoinitiators,
and VANCRYLŽ acrylic resins shipped in the Americas on or after
April 15, 2008.
The price increases will be between five and ten percent,
depending upon the product family, and as contracts allow.
The increase is necessitated by the continued escalation in the
cost of raw materials, especially acrylic acid, acrylic esters
and polyols, and the related costs of energy, packaging and
transportation. The rising cost of oil is largely driving the
increases in raw materials. The company continues to implement
cost-saving initiatives to minimize, as much as possible, the
cumulative effect of all the rising costs.
