Cytec Presents at CPIPC Innovative Acrylates For Indirect Food Packaging Applications

Woodland Park, NJ – February 10, 2010 - Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE: CYT) will present innovative low odor/low extractable energy curable acrylate resins at the Chicago Printing Ink Production Club (CPIPC) meeting on February 15th.

For indirect food packaging applications, a major challenge for ink makers is known to be migration of the resins and additives, as well as odor and taste transfer issues with respect to food contents. To respond to these challenges, Cytec has been developing a specific range of UV/EB curable resins for ink and overprint varnish applications (EBECRYL ® LEO / low extraction and odor).

“This product range of low odor/low extractable acrylates, while responding to a growing market need, is environmentally-friendly since minimal volatile organic compounds are released during curing”, says Dr. Mouhcine Kanouni, TS&D Manager Radcure Americas. “In addition to saving energy when compared to conventional printing, this product range helps ink makers to meet the most stringent regulatory requirements.
