EBECRYLŽ 4858 from Cytec -
Exceptional Mechanical Properties for UV or EB Cured Films and
Plastic Substrates
Brussels – January 25th, 2011 – Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE:CYT)
launches EBECRYLŽ 4858 aliphatic urethane acrylate for UV/EB
cured films and plastics. What differentiates this new coating
resin from others is the unique combination of mechanical
properties. EBECRYL 4858 is particularly well suited for
applications where flexibility and toughness are required
together with good chemical and abrasion resistance.
‘EBECRYL 4858 can be used for numerous forming applications,
such as thermoforming and in-mold decoration and it exhibits
excellent outdoor performances in films and flexible sheets
coating,’ says Gaia Franzolin, Global Marketing Manager UV/EB
curable resins and additives. ‘Thanks to its low viscosity, this
aliphatic urethane acrylate can easily be formulated with other
resins. For example, it can be combined with softer resins to
improve their hardness and to cut viscosity maintaining a very
good balance of mechanical and surface properties in the final
formulation,’ she adds.
