Cytec Presents New Low VOC, High
Performance Resin for Protective Coatings
Woodland Park, NJ – January 16, 2012 – Cytec Industries Inc.
(NYSE: CYT) offers a new solvent-free waterborne epoxy
dispersion that allows for formulating very low VOC systems for
topcoat and primer applications on metal and concrete. The
BECKOPOX® EP 2384w/57WA resin, has been specifically
developed to meet the needs of the protective market for a
2-pack and solvent-free resin, in order to comply with the most
recent regulations.
Cytec will showcase the new resin at the upcoming SSPC
Conference and Show in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Matthias Zweynert of
Cytec’s Application Technology Group, will give an in-depth
technical presentation on this new product on January 31. The
presentation is entitled “New Solvent-Free Waterborne Epoxy
Resin Dispersion for Low VOC 2-Pack Protective Coatings” and
gives a comprehensive overview of the product benefits and test
results.
“BECKOPOX EP 2384w/57WA is a versatile dispersion which can be
partnered with waterborne hardeners to formulate systems with 2K
epoxy performance”, says Amy Geiger, Global Marketing Manager
for Protective Coatings at Cytec. “I am proud to say that this
product can stand up to the performance of traditional
solventborne systems and outperforms other waterborne systems,
particularly in corrosion and water resistance. It can be used
in factory applied as well as field applied coatings”, she adds.
